SCOPE registration of malnourished children and lactating women in SHIFA is in progress.
SHIFA is a new WFP intervention and the first of its kind in Afghanistan, designed to support malnourished children and pregnant/lactating women through integrated food assistance. Under this activity, HOPA carried out SCOPE registration based on beneficiary lists provided from six CHCs in Kandahar City.
Four CHCs were linked with PD9 registration point: Shamsul Haq Kakar, Amir Jan, Adam Darmal, and Mirza Mohammad Khan CHCs. Two CHCs were linked with PD8 registration point: Mamoon Tahiri and Nazo Ana CHCs.
The SHIFA SCOPE registration was successfully completed, with 750 BNFs registered in PD8 and PD9. Although the activity faced challenges related to incomplete clinic data, limited verification tools, high crowd pressure, and initial site gaps, HOPA completed the target through strong coordination, field follow-up, and effective site management. Future rounds should focus on better data quality, clear SOPs, adequate staffing, and stronger site preparedness.
