HOPA successfully procured and distributed over 2,150 Community Volunteer Initiative (CVI) kits to volunteers across 15 police districts (PDs) in Kandahar City, as part of its ongoing efforts to foster community-led development and improve the efficiency of humanitarian initiatives. These kits, which included tools and protective gear such as shovels, pickaxes, safety vests, and first aid kits, were essential for supporting community projects like debris removal, cleaning campaigns, and infrastructure maintenance.

The procurement process was conducted with transparency, ensuring that all activities met the standards of accountability. Wahid Basit Rahimy LTD was selected after a competitive bid process and delivered the kits on time, allowing HOPA to distribute them promptly across the districts. The allocation was tailored to local needs, with high-demand items like helmets and gloves prioritized for districts with intensive activities.

This initiative enhanced the capacity of local volunteers to effectively carry out their tasks, ensuring both productivity and safety. Feedback channels were implemented to gather insights for future improvements, and recommendations were made to strengthen monitoring systems, provide additional training, and ensure equitable distribution for future initiatives.

By empowering communities and ensuring resources are used effectively, HOPA’s CVI Kits initiative supports sustainable development while maintaining a focus on transparency, efficiency, and community ownership.
