During the period from 22nd to 27th February, HOPA conducted a general food distribution program in Panjwai district of Kandahar. The distribution was funded by the World Food Programme (WFP) and targeted 1388 normal citizens and 210 returnees. Each beneficiary received the following food items:
• 50 kilograms of floured wheat
• 6.25 kilograms of split peas
• 4.55 kilograms of vegetable oil
• 0.5 kilograms of salt
• 1.5 kilograms of Lipid-based Nutrient Supplement (LNS) per child
• 3 kilograms of WSB super cereal per pregnant or breastfeeding woman.
The food distribution program aimed to address the nutritional needs of the recipients and provide essential sustenance during a critical period. HOPA remains committed to its mission of providing humanitarian aid and supporting vulnerable communities. The distribution process followed transparent procedures to ensure identification and verification of beneficiaries.
The support provided by HOPA, in collaboration with the WFP, contributes to the well-being and stability of the local population in Panjwai district.
